Fort Smith Area- Poverty Simulation

April 7 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

In partnership with United Way of Fort Smith Area100 Families, and 64.6 Downtown, join us at the Fort Smith Area Poverty Simulation on Thursday, April 7 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church (116 N 12th, Fort Smith, AR 72901) in Fort Smith. We hope that you will also share this information with colleagues and board members to attend as well.

The Community Action Poverty Simulation (CAPS) is an interactive, immersion experience. The simulation provides a glimpse into the structural barriers of poverty to transform participants’ perspectives about their own communities. These transformed perspectives inspire action toward positive community change.

As a leader in your community, we hope that by participating in the Poverty Simulation you will gain:

  • An increased understanding of the cycle of poverty
  • The impact poverty has on your community
  • A transformed perspective of poverty within your community
  • Action items to initiate local change

We believe if we as leaders can better understand this issue, we can join together to create positive change.

You can register for the Fort Smith Area Poverty Simulation here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/fspovsim

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Shelby Fiegel at 501-450-5269 or sfiegel@uca.edu.
