Career Readiness Training

Adult job seekers may work toward an Arkansas Career Readiness (CRC) Certificate, which covers basic workplace skills in Reading for Information, Applied Mathematics, and Locating Information. You may pursue this portable credential through KeyTrain® instruction and the ACT WorkKeys® Assessment System.

Obtaining a CRC allows an individual to show prospective employers that he or she possesses the basic capabilities and soft skills required across in-demand industries and occupations. Even if a job seeker has a high school diploma, GED, or post-secondary degree, the Arkansas CRC further verifies that an individual can handle common tasks in today’s workplace.

Vocational education

Adult job seekers may pursue a variety of educational credentials that can help them be more competitive for in-demand jobs and occupations. In particular, the WAWDB seeks to assist you in obtaining nationally recognized certifications that lead to jobs in leading industries like:

  • Healthcare: Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Advanced Manufacturing: Production Technician (CPT), Logistics Technician (CLT), Machinist (NIMS), Welder (AWS/CW)
  • Construction: Construction Crafts (NCCER), Refrigeration Mechanics and Installers (HVAC)
