2024 EPA/NASA Converses with Students

February 15 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Please join the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as we discuss the use of data visualization tools or apps, in preparation for Earth Day this year! Please register to attend this event by the close of business on February 8, 2024, if you, your classroom/school, or organization would like to participate in this free live webinar hosted by EPA Region 7. I can also be reached at senkayi.sala@epa.gov or email our team via rehd@epa.gov .

Converses with Student Web Casts Background:

EPA’s interactive webinar Converses with Student Web Cast has been attended by over 690 students, teachers, and other interested individuals in previous years (note image to the right). The webinar uses Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) to promote the value of science to students, explain how each of our actions affects the environment, and reinforce the importance of education. The one-hour-long, live sessions bring experts from different federal agencies to interact with viewers from all across the country. Distinguished presenters participating in this year’s webcast include NASA’s Ellen T Gray and Dr. Mark U SubbaRao, in addition to EPA’s Dr. Sala Nanyanzi Senkayi and Dr. Bryan Chastain.

Event details:

This unique STEM webcast is scheduled for February 15 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm Central Time. We hope you’ll join us to learn about some of the innovative ways we’re working to get important information/data to your fingertips quickly and reliably every single time. There will be a question-and-answer session towards the end of the webcast. During the question-and-answer session, we hope you share your app ideas, so we’ll all learn how each of us can use these tools or data-driven concepts to make a difference.
